Why I Kayak

Another found photo.

This was taken back in June of 2007. I was so taken by the scene unfolding before me that I almost forgot to pick up my camera and take this shot. I love just paddling about in my 'yak. If I happen to get some good shots, so much the better. I didn't really know how good a shot this was until a recent revisit.

As with a lot of digital files, it didn't look all that great until I started playing with some of the develop settings in Lightroom. This image shows not only why I kayak, but why I shoot raw NEF files almost exclusively. This version of the image has Lightroom adjustments. I'm working on another version that incorporates multiple exposure settings in an HDRI for an upcoming exhibition.

My kitteh!

Found photo. I had taken this picture of Cait and one of our cats one morning back in September when I was fooling around with my, then new, Nikon 85mm 1.4.

I came across it recently and started playing around with it in Lightroom. Coverted to grayscale and cropped, it's now one of my favs.
